Seniors

The time has come to apply to college!  There are many college options to choose from, so it's important to review their entrance requirements and make note of application deadlines.

  • UC applications are available online beginning October 1st; the UC application filing dates are November 1st - November 30th
  • CSU applications are available online beginning October 1st; the CSU application filing dates are October 1st - November 30th.
  • Private and out of state colleges and universities often use the Common Application.  When in doubt, go to the college's website directly.  These colleges will often require Secondary School Reports along with recommendation letters.  Requests must be made at least 2 weeks in advance for SSR's to be completed in a timely manner.  Please plan ahead!
  • For schools that require secondary school reports and letters of recommendation, review the SSR Instructions, fill out a Brag Sheet, and have teachers fill out a Student Information Sheet

Many colleges and universities invite students and their parents to learn more about their schools.  They may invite prospective students to their campuses, or they may hold informational meetings locally.

Summer & Enrichment Programs

There are several Summer Programs and Enrichment Opportunities at colleges and universities across the nation.  Some require a nomination by a counselor, so interested students should see Mrs. Koch in the College Center.  For a comprehensive website that has information about Summer & Enrichment opportunities, visit www.enrichmentalley.com

College Reps & Guest Speakers Visit CHS

Click Here for a list of colleges/universities that have scheduled to visit CHS.

College representatives and guest speakers often visit Chatsworth High School to speak to our students about their schools and/or programs.  Since it is not always easy to visit campuses or attend open houses, this provides students another opportunity to acquire information and ask questions about different colleges and universities as well as other enrichment opportunities.  Visits will be held in Oral Arts or other rooms as designated.  Be sure to sign up in the College Center!  Parents are welcome, too-- please go to the Main Office to get a Visitor's Pass.
